The dies were cut in 1874 per order of George D. Rollins, the "Tyler" or Doorkeeper for the Lodge.  The obverse die cracked during use.  Both dies are currently unaccounted for.  The Masonic Temple pictured was damaged by fire on February 9, 1891, deemed unsafe, and torn down.

A choice Uncirculated example was sold in the January 2011 Stacks sale for $276, lot 6639.
