JAB-27 JACKSON/THE STERN SOLDIER Copper
|
25mm - 14 struck
Both dies were cut in 1867 and sold to J.W. Kline in 1872. They are currently in the ANS collection.
Bolen struck 14 examples in Copper. Kline also struck a few examples in this metal. It is fairly easy to tell the restrikes from the originals. The originals are 2.2 to 3.0 mm thick. The restrikes are only 1.5 to 2.0 mm in thickness.
A NGC-66BN was sold on EBAY for $1800 in April 2017. A PCGS-65 example sold in the November 2021 Stacks/Bowers auction for $1020 (lot 10221).
