JAB-22 MASSACHUSETTS HISTORICAL MEDAL White Metal
|
28mm - 1 struck by Bolen
The dies were cut in 1866 and sold to Kline. The obverse die recently appeared in a Sept. 2010 stacks auction, lot 6249.
Although Kline issued an unknown number of restrikes, tin examples are still very rare. I have only seen this variety offered four times in the past thirty years. The sole Bolen strike will be on a much thicker (2.5-3.0 mil ) planchet than the Kline restrikes.
