Note that the swastika on the obverse is left-facing, not the right-facing swastika of Nazi Germany. This may have been a mistake on the part of Goetz, or it may have been purposeful. Other symbols on the medal include the Star of David, the Christian Star, the German Eagle, and the German or Iron Cross.
