The dies were cut in 1865. The obverse die was destroyed. The reverse die was given to the ANS by Bolen's granddaughter.

An uncirculated example was sold in a February 2014 Stacks auction for $259 (lot 129). Most prices realized for this auction were tremendous bargains, due to a fierce snow storm and other issues.
