Gustav Adolph Bredow (1875 - 1953) German sculptor and painter born in Krefeld, studied painting, drawing. architecture and sculpture in Düsseldorf. He settled in Stuttgart from which he traveled to France, Italy and Greece. Was a tireless experimenter in all artistic forms and styles, creating ornamental relief sculptures for churches in Württemberg and others for fountains (his specialty) in marble and bronze for; Buenos Aires (the Agricultural Wealth Fountain) and Württemberg (Fountain of The Children). Of his many statues, the bust of Johannes Kepler, works in Hanover for the municipal house and for the German Society of Buenos Aires (Mercury Sunk in Meditation) are notable. His 1910 plaque for the Württemberg art society seems to be his only commemorative medallic work.
